About the Producer
Our relationship with Adega Saíñas is one of those meant-to-be stories if you're a romantic like me and believe in fate. We were on our way to dinner at Bagos Viñoteca in Pontevedra, Galicia, one of our favorite spots to drink wine in the whole entire world, when Ana told me some friend of her brother's owned a winery and were going to meet us there, bringing their wines for us to taste. At the time, I didn't think much of it and to be honest, didn't expect much. It's rare to have a family member recommend a wine or winery worth consideration. This was different...
We met Jorge and Saleta and they explained how they had both left their careers in engineering to take over her father's winery in Ribeira Sacra after his passing. Old vines planted on terraced slopes along the Cabe River. They didn't have much experience in the wine production but obviously had the brains. They took a deep dive into studying viticulture and teamed up with one of Europe's best for the winemaking (read more to find out). The results are no joke and we feel humbled to be able to represent wines of this caliber.
